Adrienne Estes, DPM, MS, FACFAS, DABPM, FAPWHc is a podiatric surgeon practicing in Southern California. She serves as an Associate Professor at Western University of Health Sciences and is the Director of Continuing Medical Education. Additionally, she practices at Riverside University Health Systems (RUHS). Dr Estes completed her fellowship at the North Jersey Foot & Ankle Fellowship under Dr Michael Subik. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery, complex limb deformity correction, limb salvage, and surgical offloading solutions for diabetic ulcers. She is double board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Since 2016, she has been a fellow of the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing. Dr Estes is also the Chief of Podiatry at RUHS and serves as the clinical site coordinator for outside rotating PGY3 residents. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband. Jonathan Labovitz, DPM, FACFAS, CHCQM is the Dean and Professor, College of Podiatric Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine. He Is board certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also board certified in Healthcare Quality and Management by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Dr Labovitz graduated from Cornell University majoring in nutritional biochemistry. He earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine followed by a three-year residency in foot and ankle surgery at Botsford General Hospital in Michigan. Dr Labovitz then completed an AO fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery in Graz, Austria and advanced Ilizarov training in Russia. In addition, Dr Labovitz was a visiting scholar in health policy and management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health under the mentorship of Gerald Kominski, PhD. Dr Labovitz currently serves on the Council of Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) and the CPME accreditation committee, and serves as the treasurer for the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Labovitz is also a member of the Clinical Advisory Working Group for the American Diabetes Association Amputation Prevention Alliance. In addition, Dr Labovitz is a consultant to public and privately-held medical device and pharmaceutical companies. Dr Labovitz is the past chair of the Western Foot & Ankle Conference and is a past president of the Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society and past chair of the Treasure Hunt Seminar. He has also been a consultant for the California Board of Podiatric Medicine from 2000-2011 and served on the American Diabetes Association, Los Angeles Chapter Community Leadership Board from 2010-2018 and served as President from 2013-2014.

Michael Troiano, DPM, FACFAS is a 2004 graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed residency at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is in private practice at the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders in Philadelphia. He is Adjunct Clinical Professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in the Department of Surgery, he teaches Biomechanics, and MRI reading. Dr Troiano is a board certified in foot, rear foot, and reconstructive ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff and teaching appointments at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital, Temple University Hospital, Penn Wound Care Center, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Abington Memorial Hospital and the Foot and Ankle Specialty Center. He takes foot and ankle trauma call at Temple University Hospital and Penn- Presbyterian Medical Center, is a director of the Penn Wound Care Center and is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer. He has authored and co-authored several journals, articles, and chapters published in various peer reviewed journals and books.

Trent Brookshier, DPM

Trent Brookshier, DPM, is an experienced podiatrist serving patients at North Park Podiatry in San Diego, California. Dr Brookshier grew up in El Cajon, California, and attended Christian High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Annalisa. After graduating, he completed his bachelor's degree at The University of California, Irvine (ZOT! ZOT!), living in the honors dorms (called the Shire of Middle Earth for fellow “Lord of the Rings” fans). Upon graduation, Dr Brookshier worked at the University of California San Diego Hospital as a lab technician on the organ procurement team. He then attended the Western University of Health Sciences in Ponoma, California, and completed his three-year surgical residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He completed further trauma and reconstructive training at Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center in Fontana, California. Dr. Brookshier completed externships nationwide at several hospitals, such as Harvard's teaching facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Swedish Seattle in Washington, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. During his residency, Dr. Brookshier completed over 1,500 surgical procedures. Dr Brookshier is passionate about progressing the field of podiatric medicine and helping to improve diabetic care. He has presented novel studies nationwide and most recently spoke in Hong Kong and South Korea, sharing his results at the International Diabetes Federation. Dr Brookshier and his wife have been married for ten years and have three sons: Bryer, Desmond, and Calvin. Outside work, he enjoys playing sports, hiking, dancing, running, beach days, and watching “Survivor.”

Thomas J. Chang, DPM is a board-certified and highly skilled podiatric surgeon with over 15 years of experience treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. Dr Chang graduated with his doctorate degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he was a member of the Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society and recipient of the Professor Louis M. Newman Surgery Award. He then completed a three-year residency program in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Emory/Northlake Regional Medical Center. To further hone his skills and knowledge, Dr Chang completed additional training at workshops and seminars across the country, focusing on Ankle Arthroscopy, Cartilage Repair, Foot and Ankle Fixation and Microsurgery. He also provided numerous lectures for Continuing Medical Education courses to impart his expertise to other doctors.

Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg) is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. Currently, Dr Frykberg is Clinical Professor and Residency Director, Department of Orthopaedics, at UT Health San Antonio, Division of Podiatry in San Antonio, Texas. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

Bogdan Grecea, DPM, AACFAS is Vice President of Surgeon Education, Training and Onboarding at Voom Medical Devices in Brentwood, Tennessee. He is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon who earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences and completed his surgical residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr Grecea is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both forefoot and rearfoot/ankle surgery and holds licenses in California and New York. He has practiced as a foot and ankle trauma and reconstructive surgeon at multiple prestigious facilities, including Beverly Hills Golden Surgery Center, Cedars-Sinai, and various New York ambulatory surgery centers. He organized the Bay Area Residency Research Symposium and served as a panelist for ACFAS, sharing insights on residency selection.

She is a nationally recognized educator and leader in podiatric surgery, known for her innovative teaching methods and contributions to clinical research.

Arman Kirakosian, DPM, FABPM, FAAFAS

Arman Kirakosian, DPM, FABPM, FAAFAS is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon whose journey into podiatric medicine began after sustaining an injury while playing professional soccer at Titan Stadium in 1999. Originally from Armenia, Dr Kirakosian immigrated to the United States at the age of 13 with his parents and younger brother, bringing with him the resilience and determination that would later define his career. He completed his three-year surgical residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco from 2007 to 2010. Following residency, he established private practices in San Carlos and San Bruno, earning recognition for his skill in complex foot and ankle pathology and contributing to the field through multiple peer-reviewed publications. In 2015, Dr Kirakosian returned to the VA San Francisco as a staff podiatric surgeon. By 2017, he was appointed Director of the Podiatric Surgical and Medical Residency Program, where he currently mentors six residents and numerous podiatric medical students. A passionate educator, he taught Gross Anatomy at San Francisco State University from 2006 to 2024, blending academic teaching with real-world surgical experience. Dr Kirakosian also serves as Team Podiatrist for the Sacramento Republic FC (USL) and was named Team Podiatrist for the San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) in 2021. He has traveled internationally as the primary team doctor for the Armenian Women’s National Soccer Team during World Cup and Euro Cup qualifying competitions. Guided by mentors such as Dr Thomas Chang, Dr Kirakosian remains dedicated to teaching, advancing sports medicine, and giving back to the profession that once cared for him as a young athlete.

Allen Lu, MD

Allen Lu, MD, has been providing medical education throughout his career. He has been an industry educator for many orthopedic implant companies, including Arthrex, Biomet, Synthes, and ITS. Dr Lu has a background in basic sciences research from his research fellowships at the University of Rochester and UCLA. He also attended UCLA for medical school and a sports medicine fellowship and attended the University of Rochester for his orthopedic residency. He has also had extensive healthcare administration experience from previous roles at PIH Health and Astrana Health. Currently in private practice in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr Lu has been providing pain management services for chronic pain patients as well as acute and postoperative pain management patients for more than 20 years.

She has been actively involved with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, serving on its Board of Directors and multiple committees. Joseph K Park, DPM is passionate about helping others. Dr Park is a foot and ankle surgeon and is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot surgery. Dr Park's professional experience and extensive training in all aspects of podiatric medicine including foot and ankle surgery at the Olive View/UCLA Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital have given him the opportunity to treat a wide variety of foot and ankle problems successfully. Thomas Rambacher, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA is a double board-certified surgeon and wound doctor at Foot Ankle Leg Wound Care Orange County in Mission Viejo, California. He is one of the few wound care specialists and podiatrists in the region who specialize in orthoplastics (flap reconstruction), limb salvage, and highly specialized wound care. Dr Rambacher received his degree in podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, now called the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM). Board-certified podiatrist Alexander Reyzelman, DPM is the founder of Bay Area Foot Care in the San Francisco Bay Area. After he opened the clinic in 1998, Bay Area Foot Care quickly expanded into the 12-branch practice that it is today. Dr Reyzelman graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in biology. Soon after graduating, he began his schooling in podiatry at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland. After earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, he moved to San Antonio to complete a three-year residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. During his third year, he earned the title of chief resident. Dr Reyzelman opened Bay Area Foot Care after moving back to California from Texas. Soon after opening, he recognized the need for advanced diabetic wound care in the feet. This quickly became the focus of his practice and helped inspire him to open the Center for Clinical Research. There, he directs clinical trials for new and innovative treatment methods for a number of chronic podiatric conditions. In 2011, Dr Reyzelman partnered with vascular surgeon Michael Conte, MD, to open the University of California, San Francisco Center for Limb Preservation and Diabetic Foot. There, they work with other experts in numerous fields to form a multidisciplinary treatment approach for patients at risk of limb amputation because of diabetes. Dr Reyzelman maintains memberships in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the California Podiatric Medical Association. These memberships help him gain new knowledge and information to use in his clinics and in his research.

Douglas Richie, Jr, DPM, FACFAS, FAAPSM received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from California State University, Long Beach in 1976. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1980 and completed a post-graduate residency program in foot and ankle surgery at Western Medical Center in California in 1981. Dr Richie is certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. Currently, Dr Richie has faculty appointments at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University as well as Western University of Health Sciences School of Podiatric Medicine. He is the past Chairman of the Podiatric Medical Education Committee at the California School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Richie has authored over 50 original articles published in respected medical journals and medical trade magazines. He has been an invited speaker at over 100 medical symposiums throughout the United States as well as the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Italy, and Australia. Dr Richie's past accomplishments include serving as a Board member and Past President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine for 7 years and serving as Section Editor (Sports Medicine) for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery for 10 years.

Jarrod Shapiro, DPM, FACFAS, FACPM is a Board-Certified podiatric foot and ankle physician and surgeon who has been in practice for almost 20 years. He is also a fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Shapiro has taught at Western University of Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine for the past 13 years and is a full professor and associate dean of clinical affairs. He is the residency program director at the Chino Valley Medical Center PMSR/RRA program in Chino, California. Dr Shapiro's training includes a 3-year foot and ankle residency at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan after graduating from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA in 2003. Philip Wrotslavsky, DPM, FACFAS is a highly respected, board-certified foot and ankle surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions in patients from infancy through adulthood. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), board certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and licensed to practice in California. Dr Wrotslavsky received his comprehensive training on the East Coast, where he mastered advanced techniques including full biomechanical examinations that enable him to identify lower extremity pathology from the spine to the foot. He completed his prestigious orthopedic fellowship as Chief Fellow under the renowned Drs Dror Paley and John Herzenberg at the International Center for Limb Lengthening in Baltimore, Maryland. This elite Limb Reconstruction Fellowship Program provided extensive experience in preventing and treating limb-threatening conditions such as diabetic Charcot neuroarthropathy, malunions, nonunions, and complex limb deformities. During his fellowship, Dr Wrotslavsky became proficient in distraction osteogenesis techniques and skilled in utilizing the full spectrum of orthopedic fixation materials—including screws, intramedullary rods, plates, and both monolateral and circular fixators—to treat a wide variety of deformities. Prior to his fellowship, Dr Wrotslavsky completed his foot and ankle surgical residency in New York City, where he collaborated with a multidisciplinary team of podiatric, orthopedic, vascular, and general physicians in an inner-city hospital setting. His experience encompassed foot and ankle wound care, diabetic limb salvage and reconstruction, ankle arthroscopy, trauma management, neurological cavovarus foot reconstruction, and flatfoot reconstruction.
